Have you been wanting to see a little more of Long Island?

This will be the 5th year of the 2 Forks & 2 Ferries ride. Many people have gotten their first real glimpse of what Long Island has to offer. The ride will contain a little of everything as far as roads we'll be on. This year we will be taking a southern route into the Hamptons. Maybe Dune Road going out? We will board the first ferry in Sag Harbor, ride across Shelter Island, then the second ferry dropping us off in Greenport. No specific place to stop for lunch. It will depend on how the group is moving. Ride may contain parts that hit 50 mph. Other stops, maybe Halo-halo or Bubble Tea, will be determined by the group. This will be an all day ride. If there is an interest of "East Enders" wanting to join in on the ride we can figure a meeting spot out there somewhere along the way. I have no problem modifying the route I have planned.

Meet up at the Coliseum Kitchen at 9 for breakfast. 1660 Old Country Road, Plainview. This is two blocks off exit 48 of the Long Island Expressway.

Ride begins at 10:00 a.m. Weather looks like it won't be a scorcher like the previous years.

We'll be stopping at a 7-11, 10 County Road 39A, Southampton, NY. It's on the southeast corner of the intersection of 39a and N Sea Road. We're planning on coming up N Sea Road and stopping there before heading to Sag Harbor. Timing is going to be an issue. If the group prefers to "shoot out" on Sunrise Highway we would be leaving the 7-11 around 12:00 maybe earlier. If the group would like to "stop and smell the roses" we may not leave the 7-11 till 1:30-2. Either way the 7-11 will be a quick snack to carry us over to a later lunch on the North Fork.

Please note this is not the same location for the meet up as last year. As you see in last years pic we need more room.

Great weather. Great Ride. Cool People. Always fun to see old friends and meet new people. What a difference it makes when the weather isn't 100 degrees. Absolutely beautiful day. Along the way we saw Parachute guys coming down, deer, horses, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Meet up went well. Plenty of room at the Colesium Kitchen. As usual we had our assortment of scooters and motorcycles. Next to one of Joe's friends who showed up on a 150 Chinese scooter I was the smallest cc on the Helix. We took the ride out a little slow. The 150 was really loud. At one point when we were in South Hampton, Dominick, crawled underneath and noticed there was no exhaust gasket or nuts holding it on. The trip from there to Greenport wasn't that fast so we continued on. Along the way Maja, the owner of the 150, was able to get ahold of the mechanic that did the engine rebuild. Savy helped lead us down to the south shore on our way to Copaigue for repairs. Maja's mechanic put on some nuts and a gasket and tightened things up. It was better but still needs a new gasket that is a little bigger. Hopefully she made it back to Queens o.k.
